Hello. I'm sure you have already contacted Axia technical support for ideas? In your network, does the livewire traffic have to pass through your D-link? In our situation we have the livewire equipment on a Cisco switch, and we connect to the outside world through a router attached to that Cisco swi...

Preventive Maintenance for Studio Engines
Hello, We wanted to pass on something that we observed which might be helpful to others and may be something to consider as part of whatever preventive maintenance tasks you do around your station. We have an older (with fans) studio engine. This engine has a Asus N4L motherboard. This motherboard r...

We do something similar. We use a VMIX to interrupt the monitor speakers in the studio. The VMIX output is the source for the studio monitors. The control room monitor bus is an input into the VMIX, as is the feed from the EAS. We use a simple pathfinder script to control the VMIX. Under normal oper...

I would need to check but I don't think we've seen this. Our setup is: Windows Server 2003R2 (patched with new US DST dates) NTP service enabled (pool.ntp.org). I should note this server is also a NTP server itself for our internal equipment. US Central Time zone iProfiler 2.5.9f Our practice is tha...

I knew I should have read the manual before posting that. It appears there is a gain change action in Pathfinder. Until I started typing that previous message I forgot that Pathfinder might be able to handle this. If there is any way to do this through the source / show profiles that would be even s...

Setting preamp gain from Element
Hello Axians, When we find ourselves doing live music we frequently have to change the preamp gain of our mic nodes for whatever unearthly microphones happen to be plugged in to them. So we take advantage of the source profile setting that allows you to tweak preamp gain from the element using the r...

You might want to talk with Axia tech support about your particular setup and what kind of ip audio driver you might need to speak with Protools and how many channels you can support.
If this is a new setup I am sure they can steer you in the right direction:

We use shoutcast / winamp to generate our streams. I'll check what our configuration looks like. We happen to run it on the same machine that hosts our iProfiler and we use the axia software driver from that application to feed the stream. I don't recall an issue with winamp seeing the axia ip drive...

Hello, Does your Intel 82566DM-2 card have any "TCP offload engine" features? If so, try disabling them. You should see them listed when you pull up the network card properties in Windows. We have two HP servers whose internal NICs have very robust TCP OE features. Those are great for normal traffic...

Disabling multicast on a Cisco 2960 port
Hello! I was wondering if it was possible to disable multicast traffic (IGMP traffic) on a single port of a Cisco Catalyst 2960G switch. The reason that I ask is that I have a device - a cheap, switch - which does not appear to play nicely at all when placed on the same switch / vlan that our Axia n...

Pathfinder / ENCO DAD Control Strings
Hello! I was hoping that one of the talented / experienced / good looking folks on this list could help me troubleshoot a problem of mine. I want to use Pathfinder to send a text string (by UDP) to our ENCO system. We had this set up and working great back when we built our facility the first time -...

Creating a source in studio 2 will work fine - we have sources set up like that which we use when we have a band in 'studio 1' and want to mix from 'studio 2'. I believe that the x just means that the audio source is assigned to a control somewhere else (ie, studio 1) and that control currently owns...
