Windows ASIO Driver beta now available

Post by clarknovak »

In addition to our newly-announced Beta Driver for OS X, we have a beta release of a new ASIO driver for Windows OS users as well.

The ASIO driver will work on the following Windows versions:
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition (32-bit, standard)
  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Editions
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server R2
  • Vista 32-bit (some known issues)
Please note that the ASIO driver is part of a package that also includes a pre-release version of the WDM driver, and if installed on a PC that already has a released copy of the Axia IP-Audio Driver, will overwrite the WDM version already present.

If you are already a user of the WDM Axia Driver, you can obtain a beta copy of the ASIO version as well. Your existing serial number will be required for activation.

If you are interested in trying this beta Driver, please PM me with the following information:
  • First and Last Name
  • Position
  • Company you work for
  • Location
As with any pre-release software, please be aware that this is beta code and may not be quite ready for prime-time; we're looking for your feedback. By installing the software, you signify that you understand that Axia cannot be held responsible for any losses that might be incurred due to the use of beta software in mission-critical applications.

Cheers!

When do you plan to publish a release version with ASIO support?
Thanks

Nick,

we are wishing to have a release that resolves a naming issue in Win07. This version has been in beta a long time and we haven't had any reports of problems. So we are considering having an intermediate release instead of waiting for the win07 compliant version. I will place some harder performance tests on this version soon and see if we can get an official released version for the ASIO driver.

Milos, thanks for answering.

The reason for my question was not in an issue that we have encountered in this beta version (we never did). We will have a big installation soon involving LW and our radio automation system, and we just wanted to check if anything new is coming.
Thank you again.
Nick
