Dimming of main speakers in Preview mode

I have connected separate speakers for Preview but the main speakers still dim when Preview is selected. If I change the Dim gain on the CR speakers it makes no difference and the manual only refers to this in the context of dimming when talkback is on. Is there a way of stopping the main speakers dimming when Preview is selected?

One thing that you might not have done is after changing the settings on the profile page is to reload the show profile. I've forgotten this several times and been quite confused when the changes I made didn't do anything.
