How to include a photo in your post

Post by admin »

Due to bandwidth and storage concerns, we cannot host our own photos at this time. However, you can include photo links in your posts.

The photo you want to include must be on a web page already. Most of the forum members use one of the many free online photo album sites out there, including:

www.photobucket.com (recommended)
www.flickr.com
www.imagecave.com
www.imagehosting.us
www.pictiger.com

Sites found to be incompatible:
Webshots
Yahoo Photos
Albumtown
Tripod

General Photo Posting Process: (scroll to bottom for specific instructions for Photobucket.com)

1. Please post photos measuring 800 x 600 pixels or less to this forum. The smaller the file size, the faster the page loads (a big plus for dial-up users).

2. Go to your online photo album and bring up just the photo you want to include. Right-click the photo and select "Open image in new window" or "View Image" (depending on your browser). Then, select and copy the photo's URL that's showing up in the browser's address bar.

3. Create your forum post and paste the URL of your picture into the text box.

4. Using your cursor, highlight the URL you just pasted, and click the button labeled "Img" on the toolbar above the text box.

5. Next, click the "Preview" button at the bottom of your forum post window. If done correctly, you'll see your post and picture.

Photobucket Instructions (www.photobucket.com)

1. Create your free Photobucket account and upload your photo(s) per their instructions making sure they are sized appropriately for forum topic or forum signature use!

2. Click and copy the code in the URL Link box under the photo you wish to insert into your forum post or signature as shown in the graphic.

3. Paste the Image Code into your forum post or forum signature box.

4. Using your cursor, highlight the URL you just pasted, and click the button labeled "Img" on the toolbar above the text box.

5. Click the "Preview" button at the bottom of your forum post window. If done correctly, you'll see your post and picture.
